Ingar Zach is a percussionist improviser from Norway, now based in Madrid, Sapin. He studied Musicology at Oslo University and Jazz and Composition at Trondheim University. He started his carreer as a percussionist for the famous folk groups from norway hateau Neuf Spelemannslag and Harnihomba, shifting to Jazz and Improvisation in the mid-nineties. In 2003, Zach is awarded a master degree in Chamber Music by the Oslo Music Academy (the first master degree to be awarded in Norway to a repertoire exclusively built from improvised music pieces). He founded the SOFA label in 2000 together with Ivar Grydeland. He has played in several of the most important improvised music festivals and meetings and has recorded more then 50 records, including solo outings.
Martin Küchen was born in Sweden and has musical background in flute and saxophone. He started his live presentatios with rock and jazz bands, and was part of the Cirque Noveau. Since the year 2000, Küchen started to participate frequently in european improvisation events and to colaborate in various groups. At the same time he started composing for theatre and creating sound instalations for museums. After several records in his groups, he finally released his first solo album in 2005.
Nikos Veliotis was born in Athens, Greece, and initialy studied piano, later concentrating on the cello. By the end of the nineties he was a close colaborator with the London improvised scene due to the investigation work he undertook at the Trinity College of Music. He now works as a free-lance celloist, mainly playing contemporary repertoire (especialy Xenakis, Scukthorpe, Lachenmann, Cardew, Corner, e Bussoti). He his the director of the 2:13 club in Athens, which maintains a regular musical programming especially dedicated to live contemporary composition and improvisation and hosts the anual 2:13 festival.
